2017 has been a disastrous year, politically and environmentally, but something I will always cherish about the year will be my trip to Qlik in Lund, where the company was founded back in 1993.
Qlik Luminaries were invited to the picturesque Swedish town for a meetup, presentations and discussions. A night-long storm threatened some of our travel plans but we all made it in the end. The presentations featured a envious roster of IT talent from Qlik employees such as legend HIC (check out his exceptional guides at https://community.qlik.com/people/hic/content
Of course, I can’t disclose the content of these presentations but what I can say is that Qlik have a lot of exciting features to wet our appetites over the next 12 months. What was even more striking was just how hard they are working to not only stay ahead of the competition (don’t mention the “T word” 🙂 ) but to be at the forefront of technological advancement. We’re always being told about the “next big thing in business intelligence” and Qlik are well placed to shape the future.
I can’t complete this short review of the trip without adding how kind, passionate and beatific all the Qlik staff were. Particular thanks go to Viktoria, Gillian and Donna for organising it all. Each and every fellow luminary I met was equally amazing and I left Sweden full of inspiration.
As it was my first time in Scandinavia I took the train to Copenhagen in Denmark for a couple of days of sightseeing. What a wonderful part of the world.
